Welcome to EasyStudy ("we", "our", "us"). EasyStudy is an AI-powered study application developed by Rozsa Gyene. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we collect, use, and share your information.

This Privacy Policy applies to the EasyStudy mobile application and website (myeasystudy.com). By using EasyStudy, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

Email address (when you create an account)
Display name and profile photo (via Google or Apple sign-in)

Camera and Photo Data

Photos taken with the camera for document scanning and homework help
Images selected from your photo library for question analysis
Camera and photo data is processed solely to extract text and provide study assistance — images are not stored on our servers beyond what is needed to process your request

Usage Data

Questions asked and subjects studied
Practice session results and progress data
Study plans, flashcards, and bookmarks
App feature usage and interaction data

Device Information

Device type, operating system, and version
App version and language preference
Advertising identifier (for ad-supported free tier only)

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve our AI-powered study features
To personalize your learning experience and track progress
To sync your data across devices when signed in
To display relevant advertisements to free-tier users
To communicate important updates about the service
To analyze usage patterns and improve the app

4. AI Processing

EasyStudy uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate study materials, practice questions, explanations, and flashcards.

What data is sent to the AI

The text of your question or study content
The subject you selected (e.g., Math, Physics)
Your language preference (so the AI responds in your language)

What is NOT sent

Your name, email address, or account information
Your device identifiers or location
Your study history, progress data, or flashcards

How data is collected

When you submit a question through the app (by typing, photo, or voice input), the extracted text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API over an encrypted connection. The AI processes your request and returns an explanation, which is then displayed in the app.

Third-party processing

Your academic content is processed by Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic may process this data according to their own privacy policy. For more information, visit Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

In-app consent

Before your first AI-powered request, the app displays a consent dialog explaining that your study content will be sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for processing. You must agree before any data is transmitted. You can revoke this consent at any time by clearing the app's local data.

5. Advertising

EasyStudy uses Google AdMob to display advertisements to free-tier users. Premium subscribers do not see any ads.

Google AdMob may collect and use certain data, including device identifiers and usage information, to serve personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your consent choices. When you first use the app, you will be presented with a consent form to manage your ad privacy preferences in compliance with applicable regulations.

You can change your ad preferences at any time through the Ad Preferences section in the app's Settings page.

6. Data Storage and Security

We use Google Firebase for user authentication and cloud data storage. Your data is stored securely on Firebase servers and protected by industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.

Local data (settings, offline content, study progress) is stored on your device using browser/app storage. This data is not transmitted unless you are signed in and syncing across devices.

EasyStudy integrates the following third-party services:

Anonymous, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

11. Children's Privacy

EasyStudy is designed as an educational tool for students. However, children under the age of 13 should not use the app without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information without your consent, please contact us and we will promptly delete the information.

12. International Data Transfers

EasyStudy is available worldwide. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by other appropriate means. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.

14. Data Deletion Requests

To request deletion of your account and associated data, you can:
